Cottage for rent or sale on beautiful Pelee Island |
|
Pelee Island, a serene island in Lake Erie, is famous for its quality wines and for being the southernmost inhabited point in Canada. It is also famous for butterfly and bird migration stops, and rare species of wildlife. The island has been spared commercialization and is like a step back in time. It has some small shops, a museum, a winery, a liquor store, an old lighthouse, a modern health clinic, several bars and restaruants, plenty of B&B’s, some churches, and two marinas. Maple Shore Retreat sleeps up to 10 and is on the east shore of Pelee island right next to the Township beach. The beach is sandy and the water shallow for excellent swimming. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a shared two-piece bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed; the other has a double bed and two bunk beds. Both have access to a walk-out upper deck. Downstairs is a three-piece bathroom, a TV room with a couch that converts to a double futon bed, and a large kitchen/living area with a pull-out double couch. There is also a screened-in porch. Outside are two gas barbecues.
